Veitsitehdas, once a renowned knife factory, is now a modern craft beverage hub in Fiskars Village. Home to Fiskars Brewery, Ägräs Distillery, and Noita Winery, it seamlessly blends tradition with sustainability. Visit us in Fiskars Village to explore our sustainable craft beverages and witness responsible production in action.
Originally built as Fiskars’ knife and plow factory, the building housed knife production until the turn of the millennium. Today, Veitsitehdas is a hub for craft beverage production.
Since the building has always been called Veitsitehdas (Knife Factory), we decided to keep the name. The space has been carefully renovated into a modern beverage production facility and visitor center, honoring its history and utilizing local expertise.
Veitsitehdas is located in the unique Fiskars Village, the birthplace of Finland’s industrial production in the 1600s. Today, the space is home to the production of Fiskars Brewery, Ägräs Distillery, and Noita Winery, with part of Suomenlinna Brewery’s production also taking place at Veitsitehdas.
The Veitsitehdas visitor center and its production brands are part of Brukett Oy, a subsidiary of Heino Group. In addition to our production, Brukett imports a variety of sustainably produced beverages, which you can learn more about here. The company also includes Pien, a bar and store for craft beer enthusiasts in Helsinki, as well as Bottlescouts, an online retailer specializing in high-quality wines. Bottlescouts offers home delivery of many beverages produced at Veitsitehdas, including Noita Winery’s wines and Ägräs Distillery’s spirits over 8% ABV
One of the core principles of Heino Group’s operations is to support and guide companies toward sustainable food and beverage production. The group’s sustainability efforts are led ambitiously and proactively at the corporate level by a sustainability development team consisting of all subsidiaries. Brukett Oy is ISO 14001 certified, and Veitsitehdas visitor center is on the verge of completing the Sustainable Travel Finland program.
Our facility is powered by solar energy from rooftop panels. We capture and repurpose carbon dioxide from production for tank cleaning and beverage carbonation. Additionally, we repurpose surplus materials from our production that would otherwise go to waste. For example, the organic grapes we receive from Austria are first used in winemaking, then in beer flavoring, followed by distillation, and finally, the remaining material is converted into biogas. By capturing CO₂ and repurposing organic materials, we not only minimize waste but also create a closed-loop production system that benefits both the environment and our craft.
At the Veitsitehdas Visitor Center’s bar, you can explore and purchase all house-made beverages under 8% ABV to take home. The restaurant sales of our products are handled by Brukett’s sales organization, and they can be ordered by restaurants through the Winetto service. You can find Brukett’s contact information here.
